Bella Sun is a Year 6 student at Meriden School who believes music is a language of joy. She began harp studies with Natalie Wong four years ago, and her warmth, curiosity, and dedication have earned her remarkable recognition on both local and international stages. Bella is also an accomplished pianist and violinist, consistently earning High Distinction in all her grade examinations and winning multiple prizes.
In 2026, she won First Place in the Sydney Eisteddfod Harp (Under 12) and Third Place in the Open Age section, alongside a win at the Toronto International Harp Competition – Advanced Level, Excellence, Class A (13 & Under). In 2025, she added Second Place at the Sydney Eisteddfod (Plucked & Bowed Lower Strings, 15 & Under) and the Ryde Eisteddfod Edna Wilde Award for String Solo with Cash Prize. Looking back at 2024 and 2023, Bella’s achievements reflect both consistency and heart. During those years, she earned First Prizes at the Sydney Harp Eisteddfod, Sydney Eisteddfod (Under 12, Plucked Strings), St George Eisteddfod, and the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition — alongside multiple Second and Third Prizes at the Ryde Eisteddfod, and Highly Commended awards across all other sections.
Beyond solo performance, Bella loves making music with others. She has played with the Meriden Chamber String, Meriden Sifonia Orchestra, Meriden Wind Symphony, Sydney Youth Orchestra, Ku-Ring-Gai Youth Orchestra, Sydney Youth Harp Ensemble, and Harp Holiday Youth Ensemble.
For Bella, music isn’t about playing every note perfectly — it’s about spreading happiness. When she performs, she hopes the audience feels the same joy that fills her heart whenever she plays.
