Caressa Peng

Caressa Peng (b. 2014) is an 11-year-old Australian harpist from Sydney whose love of music shines through both her performances and her dedication to learning. A music scholarship recipient, she enjoys sharing the expressive and gentle voice of the harp with audiences of all ages and believes music is a wonderful way to connect with and bring joy to others.

Since beginning her harp studies at the age of five with her long-time teacher Natalie Wong, Caressa has built an impressive record of achievements in Australia and internationally while remaining passionate about discovering new music and growing as a young musician.

Caressa has performed in a wide variety of settings, from concert halls to community and civic events. From 2025 to 2026, she has performed as a Guest Harpist with the Ku-ring-gai Youth Orchestra, where she discovered a love of orchestral playing and collaborating with fellow young musicians. In 2025, she was honoured to perform at the Sydney Opera House for the Lunar New Year’s Eve Gala. She has also appeared as a soloist for the Deputy Premier of New South Wales, the Secretary of NSW, senior education officials, and at the Hills Performing Arts Festival.

Her competition highlights include multiple First Prizes and championship awards at the Sydney Eisteddfod, Sydney Harp Eisteddfod, Ryde Eisteddfod and Hawkesbury Eisteddfod, as well as international success at the Toronto International Harp Competition, Hong Kong International Harp Competition, American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, Caneres International Music Competition, and the Basel International Online Harp Competition. These achievements have led to invitations to perform at both Carnegie Hall in New York and the Hofburg Palace in Vienna.

Caressa enjoys broadening her musical horizons through ensemble playing and masterclasses with distinguished harpists, including Louise Johnson and Alexander Boldachev. She is continually inspired by the opportunity to learn from experienced musicians and to challenge herself through new repertoire and performance experiences.

Above all, Caressa is grateful for the encouragement of her family, teachers, and mentors. She hopes to continue growing as a musician, sharing beautiful music with others, and inspiring more young people to discover the joy of the harp.
