Leonard Tang began his violin studies at the age of five under Professor Zhang and later continued his training with Dr Evgeny Sorkin. He has been a music scholar at Barker College and the Rising Stars Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and is currently a medical student at the University of New South Wales.
Leonard has performed as a soloist at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall. He was a finalist in the National Youth Concerto Competition and a Grand Finalist at the Strike a Chord Chamber Music Competition as first violin of the Frosty Shosty Quartet. He is also the winner of the Barker Annual Concerto Competition, performing Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Barker Symphony Orchestra at The Concourse, Chatswood. He has appeared as a soloist with the Queensland Youth Orchestra and Beecroft Symphony Orchestra, and has received multiple awards at major Sydney Eisteddfods.
