Wen Zhu

Wen began his musical career on the drums at the age of eight, and soon after found a passion and love for the marimba. Learning from his teacher, Sandy Sin, he has competed, performed and been awarded many prizes in competitions and concerts both nationally and internationally. Most notably, this includes Gold in the 25th Australian Percussion Eisteddfod 2024, Gold at the Sydney Eisteddfods 2025, Gold at the Sydney Percussion Eisteddfod 2025, Gold at the Ryde Eisteddfod 2025, being involved with both ensemble and solo performances throughout the 2023-2025's Festival of Instrumental Music at the Sydney Opera House, being nominated for Encore consideration, and additionally represented the youth of Australia at New Zealand's national ANZAC ceremony. Through these countless opportunities, Wen has gained immeasurable amounts of performing experiences in his years of high school and looks to advance his love for music and the marimba even more in the future.
