Celebrating Our Young Maestros: April 2025 Updates

Concerts for All are proud to see our young performers grow and develop! These musicians not only enrich our community concerts but also make their mark in various musical settings across Sydney.

Connie Liu and Symphony Shi

Congratulations to Connie Liu and Symphony Shi on winning the Multiples Concerto category at the KPO Concerto Competition with their performance of Mendelssohn's Double Concerto for Violin and Piano! Their teacher, Evgeny Sorkin, expressed his warm congratulations in an Instagram post:

Symphony has been a wonderful part of our community concerts since October 2024, while Connie first performed with us at our March 2025 storytelling concert. Both are music scholarship recipients at Meriden School.

Our audience at our sold-out Animal-Themed Storytelling Concert for Children on 22 March had the privilege of experiencing this piece performed beautifully, with Samuel Dharma accompanying at the piano.

Symphony will be performing in our upcoming storytelling concert for children on 29 April:

Chloe Lin

Chloe Lin from Santa Sophia Catholic College, who performed at our opening community concert this year, has been featured in her school's Student Spotlight. We're delighted to see her musical journey receiving recognition beyond our concert stage. Watch her interview with Music Coordinator, Mr Rooke, in the video below (from 5:33):

Emma Rose Koeswandy and Chantelle Tiranatvitayakul

Our featured performers Emma Rose Koeswandy and Chantelle Tiranatvitayakul, also students of Meriden, have been participating in WestPhil Chamber Orchestra's "The Advocates: Part 1" program. After enriching rehearsals and music-making, they performed with the orchestra in a concert at St Patrick's Cathedral in Parramatta. We're delighted to see our performers engaging with Sydney's broader classical music community!

You can also listen to Emma Rose—an active participant in our concerts— perform on the piano in our 29 April storytelling concert for children:
