17 February 2026, Sydney — To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Concerts for All (CFA) hosted a Classical Pop-Up Concert at Darling Park Tower 2. This new location in Sydney CBD is as an exciting addition to our regular performances at the QVB. This event was also particularly significant as it was supported by Yancoal Australia.

A Reprieve from the Usual Work Day
Many office workers stopped by to watch the performances during their lunch break, and it was such a joy to see people enjoying classical music as a brief escape from their busy work day. Watch some of the performance highlights below as witnessed by our audience:

Symphony Shi, winner of the prestigious 2025 Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Junior Piano Scholarship, began the concert with Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor, BWV 873, before Andrew Wang—currently studying at the Universität Mozarteum—delivered a brilliant rendition of the Allegro from Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major.
The program then explored harmonic textures with Jordan Zhao’s performance of Bortkiewicz’s Ballade, Op. 10, No. 1, followed by violinists Alana Gao and Leonard Tang, performing Sarasate’s Navarra, Op. 33 alongside pianist Christopher Malek with remarkable synchronicity.
Symphony Shi performed for a second time with the lyrical melodies of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 24 in F-sharp major, Op. 78 and was then followed by a masterful performance of Mozart/Volodos Turkish March by concert pianist and CFA Board member Christopher Malek.
A Step Forward in Making Classical Music More Accessible
We are incredibly proud of our performers and are truly excited to have more concerts in this new Pop-Up venue. CFA are incredibly grateful for the generous support of Yancoal Australia, as it is instrumental in helping us open up more performance opportunities for local musicians and bringing accessible music to wider audiences.

At Yancoal Australia, we're committed to supporting the communities where we operate through initiatives across health, education, arts and community development. Concerts for All gives everyone the opportunity to experience and enjoy live classical music and we are delighted to support this meaningful program. - Sophia Xu, Corp Admin & Coordination Manager, Yancoal Australia
