The First of Many: Classical Pop-Up Concert Series Launches at the QVB

6 December 2025, Sydney — Concerts for All began its exciting new concert series, the Classical Pop-Up Concerts at the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), with a spectacular performance last Saturday. This event marks the start of our new monthly concert series, bringing high-quality, accessible classical music directly to the heart of Sydney's iconic QVB.

The day was a lively display of exceptional musicians, creating an atmosphere that inspired musical exploration and captivated both shoppers and visitors.

A Diverse Showcase of Instruments and Collaborative Playing

Collaborative performances stole the show. The Sydney Percussion Ensemble captivated a massive audience with their unforgettable energy, complementing the warm, heartfelt atmosphere created by the Li family’s 6-hand piano piece. The program also featured moving violin and piano duets by Allen Wang with Malcolm Lin, and Daniel Cheng with Megumi Kusuda. Soloists Malcolm Lin, Alexander Liu, and Emma Rose Koeswandy highlighted the versatility of the new QVB piano, while Wen Zhu dazzled separately with a virtuosic marimba performance.

Engaging the Crowd and Fostering New Audiences

The unique setting proved perfect for engaging the public. Passersby frequently paused their shopping to stop and listen to the music. The lively performances and rhythmic pieces drew a particularly enthusiastic response from the youngest audience members, with several children seen joyfully dancing along to the music.

To keep the growing crowd connected between pieces, our signature music trivia segment was featured, helping to keep the audience engaged by testing their musical knowledge.

It was heartwarming to discover that an audience member who attended our Partnership Launch Concert was present once again. She mentioned:
